May 2025 with HKB: Refills, Real Talk & What’s New

Hi Beauty,

It’s been a little quieter on our Instagram and newsletter front recently, but we’ve still been working behind the scenes and I wanted to take a moment to share a few updates and reflections from the heart of HKB.

This post won’t be filled with hype or heavy promos. Just a real-time check-in on what we’ve been up to, what’s new, and where we’re going next. 💜

Refills and Ready-to-Use Bottles

When we introduced our refill pouches, the goal was to help build better habits - less waste, more intention. But we’ve realized that for some Beauties, refilling just feels like an extra step. And we get it.

So this month, we’re bringing back our filled bottles and jars - ready to use, no pouring required. You’ll now have the option to choose between:

• Refill pouches (to reduce waste and save a little coin), or

• Pre-filled bottles and jars for grab-and-go convenience.

This will roll out when we create new batches though, so give us some time for this to fully take effect on our website.

We’re also reintroducing bundle options and 16oz sizes on select products for those who love to stock up and save!

Pop-Up Energy: Reconnecting In Person

One of the biggest joys this year has been our pop-ups at Sky Mall. It’s been refreshing to step away from the screen and into real conversations, where Beauties feel more open to share, ask, and connect in ways we just don’t always get to online.

Being face-to-face is a powerful reminder of why HKB exists: real care for real people with textured hair, without the pressure or performance.

💭 A Final Note from Me

Every year, I tell myself I’ll stay more organized. Some things I do well… others fall through. But I keep showing up, adjusting, and giving what I can.

HKB might not look like a “big brand,” but it is a real one - built with care, authenticity and led by a genuine love for helping others feel good about their natural hair.

If you’ve supported, shared, or simply followed along quietly - thank you. You’re part of what keeps this going.

And since Mother’s Day is around the corner, I want to send warm thoughts to everyone who steps into that role - mothers, aunties, godmothers, caregivers - and love and light to those who may be grieving or needing comfort at this time.
